Commitment to Vivace is for the full program year (10 months), but tuition is paid at the beginning of each semester. Tuition covers all vocal instruction, rehearsals, music (on loan to each singer), accompanists at rehearsals, theory books (if applicable), and costs incurred for instruction and facility rental. Vivace uniforms and admission to concerts for family and guests are not included in tuition.
*Singers enrolled in two of the following programs will be billed $130 for the second program: Allegro, Presto, and A Cappella.
Payment Options & Discounts
Payments can be made by credit card, electronic check, paper check, or Ocean Grove purchase order. With approval from the executive director, customized payment plans are also available. Contact us at info@vivaceyouthchorus.org or 408-885-1746 for more information.
Singers in the same household receive a discount on tuition. The discount, which is 5% off the total cost, is automatically deducted in check out on our registration website. For information about registration, please visit our “Join Us” page.
Uniform Fees
Uniforms can be purchased at registration but are not included in tuition. Some uniform pieces are not sold by Vivace (e.g. black pants and shoes) and will need to be purchased separately. Generally, t-shirts cost $20 and polo shirts cost $30.
payment & Refund policies
Vivace Youth Chorus is a non-profit organization with the aim of providing the best choral experience possible. Vivace is funded by tuition, grants, and individual and corporate contributions, with tuition covering approximately 60% of costs. It is important that payments be made at least two weeks before the start of classes to ensure a consistent, positive experience for all members. If tuition is not paid by the due date, a rate increase may be applied.
A $30 fee will be assessed for a returned check.
Every singer is important, and significant effort and resources are spent on choosing music and events to best fit our current ensembles. Because every singer is expected to fulfill their commitment for the entire program year, tuition is non-refundable, with very few exceptions.
If a singer leaves the choir after their first rehearsal, $50 will be deducted from the tuition paid and the balance refunded.
If a singer drops after two rehearsals but before the third, $100 will be deducted from the tuition paid and the balance refunded.
After three rehearsals, the full amount of tuition is non-refundable.
For tours, camps, and other additional excursions, the full amount is non-refundable unless otherwise stated by Vivace.
The executive artistic director may make exceptions to our refund policy for extreme circumstances, such as a serious illness or injury or a move outside the Vivace service area. These exceptions are decided on a case-by-case basis.
