Vivace is:

a community-based, non-profit organization open to all children, ages 6 and up in the San Jose area. If your children love to
sing, and would like to develop their musical and ensemble skills, this is the place to start.

Vivace offers a quality Kodaly-based choral music program for children throughout San Jose at their Stone Church rehearsal
location on Lincoln Avenue. Singers are given instruction in music theory, ear training and vocal technique as well as the
opportunity to sing repertoire ranging from folk to classical music.  The children will perform in two major, semester-end
concerts per year, and also at other community functions.

Vivace Inspires:

"When our children first joined this quality choir, many of us were not aware of the depth and breadth of the musical
training they would receive.  We gradually overheard the transformation of their singing, from halting renditions of difficult
pieces of music in the early rehearsals to mastery at the final performances.  We observed their director, Peggy Spool, as
she approached her students with discipline, firmness, creativity, and enthusiasm.  She holds high expectations for all and
appreciates the individuality of each young singer.  The Vivace experience contributes even more to each child than
exposure to fine music and the expert teaching of vocal techniques.  The children also expand their implicit understanding of
other cultures as they sing folk tunes from many lands and in other languages.  They learn to expect the best from
themselves and from each other.  Together they create works of beauty, and this feeds their souls.  Witnessing their growth
as musicians and as individuals feeds ours."
